On our first post-COVID journey, we traveled to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to see the stunning scenery and wildlife in the Grand Teton National Park and adjacent Yellowstone National Park. This time we sought out the filming location of that great 1953 classic, Shane, a western directed by George Stevens and starring Alan Ladd, Van Heflin, Jean Arthur, Jack Palance and Brandon de Wilde. One of the primitive cabins originally in the movie is still there, albeit dilapidated (see below). Regardless, it brought back poignant memories of the film and its portrayal of life in the late 19th-century West. Here are some photographs of our spring trip to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
